The sequel to the highest grossing R rated film of all time is on track to open between $130 million and $150 million. 20th Century Fox’s “Deadpool 2” opens is North America on May 18th, and is expected to end the three week run on top for Marvel Studio’s “Avengers: Infinity War”. As of Monday, “Infinity War” had earned over $552 domestically, bringing it’s global total to $1.63 billion.

The film will focus on the formation of the X-Force, a mutant superhero team assembled to protect a young mutant from the time traveling Cable, played by Josh Brolin

Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch and stars Ryan Reynolds, Josh Brolin, Morena Baccarin, Julian Dennison, Zazie Beetz, T.J. Miller, Brianna Hildebrand, Jack Kesy, Stefan Kapičić, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Shioli Kutsuna, Terry Crews, Lewis Tan, Bill Skarsgård, and Rob Delaney.
