Earlier this week a change to the Defenders Facebook page dashed hopes for a second season of the Marvel Netflix series. The question of a second season had already been addressed by Marvel’s head of television Jeph Loeb during an AMA session, “Not in the plans right now,” he stated, but finished by saying, “you never know.”

When referencing The Defenders social media you find their last twitter post is from June 22 promoting Luke Cage season 2. Currently all the Defenders individual series have dropped two seasons, with Daredevil season 3 on the way. With Loeb’s ambiguous response can we really lament no season 2 of Defenders? Or does hope still remain for another street level team up?
