Humans are complex beings. We can take a class about the same subject for years, and forget almost everything after a couple months. However, when we learn something through song or while playing, we can remember that information for decades. Computer programming can seem so complicated, but companies like Kano make it a breeze. They make kits that help kids and adults alike learn how to build computers and code technology through play!
To be more enticing, they’ve paired up with Disney to create the Star Wars The Force™ Coding Kit. Through this kit, you’ll get to build a Bluetooth connected motion sensor. Through the related program, you’ll be able to code, create, play, and share your shenanigans.
In the kit is a step-by-step storybook, exclusive Star Wars stickers, a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) which contains sensors and LEDs, a case (light ring, top + bottom case, power button), interchangeable icons so you can show your allegiance to either the Rebel Alliance or the Galactic Empire, and 2 AA batteries to get you started. You’ll need to download the related app, and have a Windows 10 PC, Mac, iPad, Kindle Fire 10D with Bluetooth LE to use it.
This is available starting today! It’s a pricey kit at $79.99, which you can pick up here. There seem to be several useful skills you could glean from this device, but it’s a major investment. Check out the video below to see if you think it’d be worth the price tag!
