Hey Friends,
It’s time to talk about what we’ve been teasing for the past few weeks.
We started Nerd On! The Podcast in September of last year and have been amazed by its incredible success and all of your continued support. We are a very ambitious bunch, so your kindness has only motivated us to reach for the stars. Today we plant the seeds for what we envision to be a lush forest down the line.
As we’ve grown we started streaming, publishing video content like gameplays and vlogs, and, we’ve ventured into the wild world of pop culture journalism. We now see our four pillars as The Podcast, Streaming on Twitch, NerdOn! TV on YouTube, and Articles on our new website. To better identify ourselves as this coalescence of media, we’re dropping “The Podcast” from our company name. We are now simply Nerd On!
What does this mean for our audience?
Our podcast is still what we consider the bread and butter for what we do, and we will always continue to provide the content we were founded on. So Nerd On! The Podcast will continue on unchanged (save some fancy new cover art). However, now we have a new addition to the podcast roster. We’re excited to announce the launch of Trope Time, a new podcast hosted by a couple of the Nerd On! writers, Izzy Gutierrez and Nikki Flores. They will be diving deep into discussions about the common tropes found in the pop culture industry. We are super-excited for Trope Time and you can begin listening to it right now on Apple Podcasts, Google Play, and Stitcher.
In addition to the podcasts, we now have a new home for our YouTube channel. Ali’s channel FutureFoe Plays has now been converted to Nerd On! TV. It will incorporate all of Ali’s current content with GameByte gaming news, gameplays, play-throughs, and IRL posts from the Nerd On! crew. You can find our new home over at http://youtube.com/nerdontv. If you are fans of our video content, be sure to head on over to the new channel and subscribe.
The next change is with the website. We have completely redesigned our website from the ground up to be a more efficient place to find all Nerd On! content in one place. It is also designed to bring our new written articles to center stage. Our articles will continue to produce a great balance of news articles, and long-form features exploring topics in gaming, tech, film, anime, and so much more. All of it can be found on our new website https://nerdon.tv
What does this mean for Patreon?
We are incredibly thankful for all of our patrons’ support. Much of what we do wouldn’t be possible without our amazing patrons. As such, we are always trying to think of ways to give even more back to those who support us there. We have spent months reimagining the content that we want to offer and are excited to announce a breath of new rewards that will also bolster the amount of Nerd On! content that will be available. We’ve outlined the additions below, and invite you to join us during our live stream Wednesday, August 8th at 6PM PDT, over on Twitch, as we talk about the new rewards and tiers in much greater detail.
We thank all of our watchers, readers, and listeners for their continued support. As we mentioned before, this is just the first step to some exciting things coming in the years to come. We hope you are all as excited as we are, and as always…
Nerd On!
